1. Purpose:

The purpose of this Media Release Policy is to obtain consent from students and/or their legal guardians for the Buffalo Academy of Irish Music ("the Academy") to capture and use photographs, video recordings, and/or audio recordings of students for promotional purposes.

2. Scope:

This policy applies to all students enrolled at the Buffalo Academy of Irish Music, including minors, and covers all media collected during lessons, performances, events, workshops, and other activities organized by or affiliated with the Academy.

3. Media Usage:

Photographs, videos, and audio recordings may be used in, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. The Academy’s official website and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)

  2. Promotional materials including brochures, posters, and flyers

  3. Newsletters, press releases, and media coverage

  4. Internal documentation and archival purposes

4. Consent:

By signing the enrollment form or this policy, the student or their legal guardian:

  1. Grants permission for the Buffalo Academy of Irish Music to use images, videos, and audio recordings of the student for the purposes described above

  2. Acknowledges that no compensation will be provided for the use of such media

  3. Understands that the Academy will not identify students by full name without prior written consent

5. Opt-Out:

If a student or guardian does not wish for the student to be included in media coverage, they must submit a **Media Opt-Out Form** in writing at the time of enrollment or at any time during the year.

In such cases, the Academy will make every reasonable effort to exclude the student from identifiable images and footage in public-facing materials.

6. Ownership and Rights

All media captured by or on behalf of the Buffalo Academy of Irish Music is the property of the Academy. The Academy retains all rights to use, reproduce, and distribute the media as it sees fit for the purposes outlined above.
