Tin Whistle Teacher

Tim Benson is a performer, teacher and manufacturer of Irish uilleann bagpipes. In the mid 1990s Tim's family hosted three students from Northern Ireland's Ulster Project. It was during these years that Tim developed a love for Irish traditional music. Tim began lessons with Achill Island Co. Mayo native Michael Kilbane in 1996 and was later mentored by American-born virtuoso Kieran O'Hare. As a performer, Tim has toured extensively throughout the United States, notably with the PBS television special Christmas with the Celts. Tim has also been a faculty member at Cincinnati's Riley School of Irish Music, the Alaska Fiddle Camp, and the Northeast Tionol. Tim has been making uilleann pipes professionally since 2006.
